Dear All, 2/20/10
We have great news!..HMV received a donation of 488 self inflating air mats that will be taken down to Haiti by a team of volunteers from Airline Ambassadors International www.airlineamb.org and members of the Boulder, Colorado community, on March 22nd.
These mats were donated to Her Many Voices by the awesome backpacking outdoor products company, Kelty http://www.kelty.com , and they will be going directly to a group of children in need.
Would you please take a moment to contact Kelty's president, Kenny Ballard and say thank you on behalf of Her Many Voices' global community? We want the people of Kelty to know their voice was heard today by their act of kindness.
Thank You for taking the time to make your voice heard as well.
This world will heal, one act of kindness at a time.
Blessings,
Alicia Fall, Vision Holder of Her Many Voices

“The Long Journey Home“
Tens of thousands of Black, Christian Sudanese men, women and children are being held as slaves today in the northern part of the Sudan. This government-backed crime against humanity started in the late 1980's as the Islam extremist in the north tried to squash the "rebels" in the south who demanded a seat at the table in parliament and an equal voice in the future of Sudan. To punish those who revolted against the ruling regime, government armed Janjaweed, devil on horseback, burned homes, killed livestock and wildlife and every human being that was not murdered was taken to the north to serve out their lives as slaves.
While a Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), signed in 2005, stopped the blood shed, there were no provisions made for the slaves to return home to the south. In 1995, Christian Solidarity International (CSI) was invited to help the grassroots group, The Arab/Dinka Peace Committee, free the people who've been enslaved, constantly putting their lives at risk.
Pastor Heidi McGinness of Denver, Colorado is one of the 21st Century Abolitionists who is dedicated to freeing thousands of slaves every year.
Tamara Banks is a former TV News anchor reporter turned freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker, reporting, producing and filming the story of the South Sudanese slaves and the heroes who are freeing them.
"One person can make a difference," is Tamara’s motto. Her work is centered on evoking positive social change in our community and globally through media and civic engagement. Tamara is currently entering the film in film festivals around the country. An episode of her KBDI-TV talk show, "Studio 12," about her experiences in the making of “Long Journey Home” has won an Emmy.
Tamara clearly has the support of Her Many Voices, we’re asking for yours as well. The first step to our collective healing is in telling our story, and this one needs to be heard.
Tamara’s TazMedia channel provides an inside look at untold stories, empowering the viewer with knowledge to evoke social change.
